Stars Of Track And Field - "Say Hello" (MP3)
Stars Of Track And Field - "Arithmatik" (MP3)

I'll be the first to say I'm really really bad at procrastinating. Seriously it's a problem. I have been meaning to feature Stars Of Track And Field for weeks, but alas I have not and for no good reason. They really are a great band

Stars of TrackAnd Field hail from Portland, OR. The band transformed from a 4 piece indie rock band to 3 piece digital pop band in the past year. Good move. Amidst a wash of digital parts, propelling guitar swells, and iridescant vocals Stars Of Track And Fields have managed to patent their own unique sound. Their new EP "You Came Here For Sunset Last Year" is positively weightless. You can purchase it now on the band's website.

The Subways last night at Cinespace were fantastic. The band did not hit the stage until almost 1 AM but that didnt stop the ravenous crowd from working themselves up into a tizzy before they played (I think the alcohol had something to do with it). The massive amount of hype behind this band seemed to bring in the "Industry Professionals" by the truck-load. The club was positively teaming.

Bass player Charlotte Cooper bounced around that stage with her axe like a mad hyena waiting to rip apart her prey. Highly entertaining to watch. Billy Lunn's vocal were quite good as well. Highlights of the set were definately "I Want To Hear What You Have Got To Say" (featured on the OC) and "Oh Yeah." I had "Oh Yeah" replaying in my head the whole way to the Metro this morning.

Dirty Pretty Things (Carl Barat, ex Libertines) are in town recording their debut album (To be released on Creation) with producer Dave Sardy (Jet, Oasis). I ran into The band at Tom Vek last week. Such nice blokes. Dirty Pretty Things will be unveiled this February at the NME awards. Head over To Van Tango for a studio update from Alan McGee and 2 Live Videos from the band. Be on the lookout for all the Dirty Pretty Things vs. Babyshambles press in 2006. I can't wait for this rock rivalry to be blown vastly out of proportion.
