We hit capacity and the place was soooo packed I had to take a Xanax just to call myself down (fucking clausterphobia). The night started off with a bang even though I was 30 minutes late to DJ (sorry I thought doors were at 9 PM, they opened at 8:30pm). The place was positively teaming even before the first band In Waves hit the stage. It was only their second show ever and they were amazing. people were dumstruck. Foreign Born went on just before midnight and were fan-fucking tastic as usual. They played a slew of new material and totally rocked down the house, but it was no question that last night belonged to Cold War Kids. I first caught Cold War Kids at the Silverlake Lounge back in December and they were great. My friend Paul has been touting their greatness for well over a year. Last night I was fucking BL-OWN AWAY. The house was soo packed when Cold War Kids went on you couldn't even move inside The Echo. Their set was one writhing, dirty, absolutely AMAZING track after another. By the end of the set the audience was screaming or an encore. Seriously you must check this band out. Thank you soo soo much to everyone who came out to HELL YA! it keeps getting even more amazing Month after month. Im driving to Arizona tonight to DJ Oh Shit! A Fest? I better see all of you there!!!
