Morningwood and SOUND team Last Night FUCKING ROCKED

Chantal - Morningwood and TK - Indie 103.1 FM

Not much in a posting mood today, but I figured I would do it as not to spoil my routine. Plus I think Y'all would lynch me if I didn't tell you how the SOUND team and Morningwood shows went last night.

I drove down to Anaheim last night for M-Wood's last West Coast stop on the Head Automatica tour. Chantal was on in a BIG WAY last night. You couldn't keep her on that stage even if you tethered her to the rafters. During "Body 21" Chantal jumped off stage and jumped into the crowd to create a "Grind Pit." For "Take Off Your Clothes" the audience was treated to not one strip down performance BUT 4 lovely ladies and one guy who decided to get in on the action 5 seconds before the song ended. Sorry dude, you missed out.

The band's last song was "Jetsetter" At the beginning of the song I saw TK from Indie 103.1 FM inching his way to the stage to give something to Chantal. It was a Motorhead T-Shirt which she instantly put on and started Dancing around in. TK was trying to scream something at her but she was immersed in the song and could not hear him.

After the set ended Chantal hopped off stage to give TK a Hug. It was only then that she discovered that the shirt was SIGNED by Lemmy himself (Side Note: Chantal is OBSESSED with MOTORHEAD particularly LEMMY). TK had gone over to Lemmy's house before the show and gotten it signed for her.

I conversed briefly with Craig, Rock Kills Kid's tech, before leaving leaving the veue. What a cutie.

SOUND TEAM

Already a full night if you end it there, but no. I drove at Mach 10 up to LA to make the SOUND team show at Club Moscow. I hadn't seen the band live since Sept. at Spaceland. I must say they have improved exponentially and are really tight live now. "Don't Turn Away" is probably my favorite song live. I talked with a few of the guys after there show and they are super stoked for their upcoming full length and SXSW this year. If you have the opportunity, pick up their WORK EP on their site (where you can also download a few free MP3s as well).

WHITE BEAR

New Music on the horizon. I got an e-mail today from Daron Hollowell and his new project WHITE BEAR. He used to be in a band called Delegate - Virgina based project which was an A&R buzz band for like 3 seconds before they self-destructed last year. He moved to Brooklyn, got married, and wrote a bunch of new songs. He decided to call his new project White Bear and went back to VA to record his project with friend Jonathan Fuller on drums (Guitarist from Engine Down and Denali (RIP) OMG OMG OMG OMG!). I quite like the tracks in all their Pop-Happy goodness. Just the music I needed for a stress filled day like today. Check out music from White Bear on their myspace page and download two demos below. Goooood Shit.
