Driving To Austin SXSW Party Begins!

I'm in the bird car (since the van died) driving up to austin from san antonio. Dave is rocking out to Radiohead in the front seat in true Dave fashion. Last nights tapes n tapes/birdmonster show was fucking awesome. It was a total repeat of dallas with dodge, chris, and mj all in attendance. I took some pretty amazing pictures, but alas I have no wireless to upload them so you will have to wait. The real suprise of the night was the opening band - The Dimes from Houston, TX. They were all still in high school (one of their dad's drove them to San Antonio) and really played a tight set. Keep it up guys. The highlight of the night had to be the consequetive stage dive attempts by one severely drunken dude during Birdmonster's set. He face planted it not once but twice only succeeding in spilling beer all over me and chris. The alcohol was flowin last night and somewhere between Birdmonster and Tapes N' Tapes set somebody found out it was my birthday and decided I needed birthday shots. Next thing I know there are 3 shots of makers in front of me. They told me I could give the shots to anyone I wanted but chris and dodge had to drive back to austin that night. I ended up downing two shots and chasing it with a beer. Haha my bad ass moment of the week. I'm now in like flint with all the bros in san antonio. Suprisingly I held my own and was completely fine. Not too drunk, but definately sleepy. Instead of driving back with chris and dodge I stayed and crashed with the bird boys. Tonight the strokes are playing at stubbs in austin. Tickets are sold out and I'm bummed. I love the strokes. Were going to kick it low key tonight. Here is a hot pick of dave rockin out to the bends. See you in austin!
