Hump Day Picks For Kids Who Can't Read Good

You know you are a truly sad individual when you look forwarded to Hump Day Picks as early as Wednesday evening. I go through withdrawls when I cant HUMP. Thank God it's WEDNESDAY!!! YAYY!

Humping with me this week is Taylor from the AWESOME blog Music For Kids Who Can't Read Good. His posts are always entertaining and the music picks ALWAYS top notch. I added it to my daily reads and you REALLY SHOULD too.

Enough Enough. ENJOY!

Taylor - Music For Kids Who Can't Read Good's Hump Day Picks

Like many of you probably, I listen to a lot of music in my car. Every day, I'll jump in the Geo Prizm, plug my iPod in, set it to shuffle, and see where it takes me. There's a few songs that I particularly love to rock out to in my car, you know the kind that make you sing at the top of your lungs and nearly swerve off the road from playing air drums on your steering wheel? Here's a few of my favorite songs that'll rock you like a hurricane while you're out driving. [See Taylor's Whip]

[MP3] Muse - Stockholm Syndrome

I love Muse for car rocking and this is my favorite song for doing so. The guitar parts and tempo changes absolutely make my head spin. This song rocks so hard it should be illegal.

[MP3] We Are Scientists - Callbacks

This is one of those quick, dirty rockers thats leaves you in a whirlwind of rock awesomeness. The drums here are insane.

[MP3] Mates of State - Punchlines

An unlikely band to be in a rocking category, since their main instrument is an organ. But I dare you not to start headbanging uncontrollably at the end of this song. I almost ran over a curb the other day because of this song.

[MP3] U2 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me (Live)

U2. They're the band that played "Stuck in a Moment", right? They don't have a rocking bone in their body. If that's what you think you are highly mistaken, just listen to this song, the guitar is out of this world.

[MP3] Copeland - California

You'll hear this song and say, "this doesn't rock". Well you have to be patient, because the first three and a half minutes are straight piano ballad. But that just makes the end rock even harder.

[MP3] Rilo Kiley - Spectacular Views

This is my all time favorite Rilo Kiley song and it's also the most rocking of any theirs. I play this song at the beginning of every road trip to get me pumped. It's awesome.

5. The Gaskets. Yeti Don't Dance, Underrated and MyOldKYBLOG have been raving about this Richmond band's Live Show. They stopped in NYC last week. I have been rocking their Tasty synth influenced POP all day at my desk.

[MP3] The Gaskets - The Easy Life

4. Angel Pier. My good friend Darragh's new project all the way from Ireland. This track "Candy Eyes" never ceases to put me in a blissfully happy mood. The clean guitar riffs the cut through me like butter.

[MP3] Angel Pier - Candy Eyes

3. The Superficial. Where have you been all my life. No Shhhh shhhh. You had me at "Because Youre Ugly..."

2. A Scanner Darkly. I Just saw the trailer for this movie and I am soooo looking forward to seeing it in the theater. Keanu Reeves? check. Winona Ryder? check. Woody Harelson? (WTF!_ SUPER CHECK.

1. Google Local Text Messaging. - dooode I'm like MAD searching for a place to get some sammiches and I need to find the nearest Subway in the 90004. What to do, WHAT TO DO!!!
Crack out 'cho phone and text G-O-O-G-L and type in the name of the place and city. It send you all their info. Fucking brilliant. Just the other day I realized I use this probably 7 times a day (God Bless Unlimited Text Messaging) .
