4 BLOGGER ARTISTS THAT ARE GOING TO BE ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE BY CMJ. Every blogger likes to toot their own horn (I'M TOTALLY GUILTY OF THAT). We like to say things like "[insert band name] will be the is the Next Big Thing" and "[insert artist] blows Sufjan out of the water" and "Pitchfork is soo overrated, I find all my new music from the blogs now....." Well Fooey. All that is enough to give MP3 BLOGGERS A BAD NAME. I must admit though I have found a few artists in the last few weeks from fellow blogheads that I just simply CANNOT live without. I predict big things for these acts in the coming months. TOKYO POLICE CLUB [MP3] Tokyo Police Club - Nature Of The Experiment [MP3] Tokyo Police Club - Citizens Of Tomorrow The Toronto scene is blowing up in a big way these days - largely in part to the 4 totally adorable lads in Tokyo Police Club. Their latest EP, A Lesson In Crime, will draw obvious comparison to Arctic Monkeys, The Subways, and The Rakes but it has one thing those albums were lacking - LEGS. LILY ALLEN [MP3] Lily Allen - LDN [MP3] Lily Allen - Knock 'Em Out Lily Allen is my new favorite person in the entire world. Screw her musicianship (which is top notch) screw her catchy songs (LDN is officially my summertime anthem), Lily has quite possibly the most adorable personality I have ever seen. PELA [MP3] Pela - Present [MP3] Pela - Tenement Teeth I first heard about Pela through DODGE. Upon further investigation I discovered the Brooklyn based quartet were managed by World's Fair..... and upon further listening I discovered that "Present" is one of the best songs I have heard all year. HEADLIGHTS [MP3] Headlights - TV [MP3] Headlights - Put Us Back Together Right I found Headlights On You Ain't No Picasso and since picking up their debut album, Kill Them With Kindness, their delightful mix of indie shoegaze pop has rarely left my stereo. Kill Them With Kindness reminds me of the way I felt when I first caught on to Silversun Pickups. The Champaign, IL trio have scheduled a tour in support of their new release for August.
