Weekend Music Picks: Sonic Youth, Dios (Malos), The Little Ones, Peter & The Wolf, Briertone
![]() TONIGHT: Dios Malos, The Little Ones, Submarines, Peter & The Wolf @ The Echo - $12 Aight, So I'm some what spoiled because I got to see Dios (Malos) perform at Little Radio two weeks ago during the Summer Camp/BBQ. Now I get to see them for the second time in consecutive weeks TONIGHT at The Echo. The band will be joined by a SUPERSTELLAR lineup with The Little Ones, Submarines, and Peter & The Wolf rounding what is to be a fucking amazing show. I'm soo frickin exciting. Tickets are just $12. [MP3] Dios (Malos) - I Want It All [MP3] The Little Ones - Let Them Ring The Bells [MP3] Peter & The Wolf - The Fall [MP3] Submarines - Brighter Discontent ![]() TONIGHT: Grand Ole Party @ Club Spaceland You may remember Hell Ya! alums Grand Ole Party from back in May. Ahh yes, THAT Grand Ole Party....a.k.a one of only a few bands to ever make my jaw literally drop to the floor the first time I saw them. The last time I saw a vocalist pull drum duty and sing was Tom Vek back in November (I named him my Artist of The Year largely in part to his performance). To see a chick do it with 1,000 times the moxy, a voice like Aretha, and a disco beat never missed is just mind-blowing. The band made the long trek up from San Diego and will be playing Club Spaceland ce soir. [MP3] Grand Ole Party - Look Out Young Son ![]() SATURDAY: SONIC YOUTH SECRET SHOW @ UNDISCLOSED LOCATION - SOLD OUT OK, I'm 100% certain if you search the internets far and wide you will discover where Sonic Youth's secret LA show is TOMORROW NIGHT. Hell, if you read this site regularly you can probably figure it out. I ain't posting it. The last thing I want is the thousands (oh who am I kidding, handful) of readers of this site to converge on the show in the hopes of getting in. It's quite simple "If You Ain't Got A Badge, You Ain't Gettin' In." Badges were available at a few select LA area record stores and have since SOLD OUT. Tough luck my friends. If you were fortunate enough to nab one, have a glorious time at the show - You Lucky Rat Fucking Bastards. They better play some oldies or I'll be miffed. P.S. Sonic Youth are also opening for Pearl Jam at The Forum on Sunday. [MP3] Sonic Youth - Reena ![]() SATURDAY: Briertone, Goodbye Elliot @ The Roxy - $12 Dammit, Once again I made this post too long and I've run out of metaphors, idioms, and typos to describe my fucking favorite band of the moment. I'm going to have to finish out Today's post in Caveman. BRIERTONE. AMAZING. MUST. GO. SHOW. KROMMMM LIKEY............ No excuse. GO. I'll see you there.
