If you ever check out my flickr feed you might recognize a few faces in the band. They are some of my dear friends (Danny - Keyboardist and Gabe - Bassist even helped me paint my apartment). At first glance Blesk's music seems simple, lightweight - as peaceful as the seaside town they come from. I encourage you to give it a few listens. You will find a wonderfully layered and diverse record lying not far beneath the surface. Singer Jacob Wick's haunting vocals soar over almost hymnal arrangements with an air of childlike splendor. Blesk have been making quite a name for themselves all along the central coast. The young band recently released their first full length record, REST, on Something Sacred (Home to Briertone, Sparrow's Gate). REST is available online at CDBaby.com and digitally at iTUNES. Sorry to keep today's post so short. My face is doing a lot better and THANK YOU SOO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO GAVE ME TIPS. My skin started peeling off all weekend (some mortifying moments to say least). I now look like the pink panther. I have a Dr. Appt in a few minutes. Hopefully there wont be any scarring. At least I dont have brown and red mask over most my face anymore! Back to work tomorrow.
