My Winner For Worst Band Name Of The Year

BANG GANG [MP3] Bang Gang - Find What You Get (Live) OK. PLEASE overlook their absolutely horrific name. They are from Iceland - land of pixies, volcanic eruptions, geysers, and BJORK - I'd like to think they didn't know any better when they chose the name. Bang Gang's music is actually pretty DARN good. The wizard behind it all is multi instrumentalist Bardi Johannsson. Take the weird and twisted parts of Radiohead combined with the desolate alien planes of the country that birthed the project and you have 'da Bang Gang. I hope that makes sense. I think the real definition for this band's sound can be summed up in this film still from the 1991 classic Terminator 2: Judgement Day T-1000 Is it just me or is the resemblance uncanny? I found that the live recording of the track above is actually BETTER than the studio version. This version is more up tempo and really rocks. MINIATURE TIGERS [MP3] Miniature Tigers - The Wolf From the worst band name to quite possibly the cutest - Miniature Tigers. I thought it would take an army of koala bears, sleeping kitties, and 3 yr old girls in ballerina costumes to wrestle this title away from The Little Ones - but all it took for me was this two headed cat and the thought of baby snow leopards.... (OHHHHHH MIIII GOSH. BABY SNOW LEOPARDS!!!!) Miniature Tigers is a project of Eastside resident Charlie Brand. I love finding great new music in my own backyard - then again that's what this site is all about. An old friend from Phoenix sent me "The Wolf" yesterday. The song is so infectious half my office was singing "Everybody's Looking At Look At You Like They Want To Go Home With YOU" by the end of my 18th listen. I get a little obsessive about things. I emailed Charlie immediately and asked him if I could post the track. He obviously said yes. There is not a whole lot of info about Miniature Tigers available on the internets and the acts myspace page doesn't have much content. Charlie did tell me via e-mail that "The Wolf" will be included on a full length due out in February 2007.
