Holiday weekends will do that to you. I'm not feeling very well today. New medication for my skin is making my heart race and making me really woozy and weak. Don't have much time to write but I just had to get something in about my one of my favorite new LA bands: THE PITY PARTY I caught The Pity Party last night at their Silverlake lounge residency. The two piece were midway through their second song, My roommate and I edged in towards the front of the crowd. Pity Party were absolutely killing it on stage. There wonderfully disconnected machine like drone was held together with amazing distorted guitar and a flurry of red hair courtesy of drummer/keyboardist/vocalist (yes she does all three AT THE SAME TIME) Heisenflei. After the show I immediately made a beeline for the back of the lounge and picked up there new EP. Indie 103.1 has been playing "The War Between Eight And Four" and The L.A. Weekly made them a pick of the week. I'm pretty excited to see what the future holds for the duo. Download the two tracks above and check them out.
