Even The Weather's "Under The Weather"

THE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT

[MP3] The Airborne Toxic Event - Does This Mean You're Moving On?

It's drizzly and rainy in Los Angeles today. Maybe that's why my head feels like its in a vice grip. I was feeling six shades of "poopy" yesterday and despite taking it easy and going to bed extra early I woke up feeling just as sick.

I stumbled into the living room and my roommate immediately asked if I was feeling all right. The 8 yr old with a fever in me only managed a low drawn-out "yaaaaaaaa." She marched into the kitchen and whipped up what can only be described as "pepper goo" - the most disgusting tasting concoction made of highly concentrated ginger root, a squeezed lemon, 3 cloves of garlic, pepper, and honey (to help with the taste) I have ever had. I forced it down in 4 heaving gulps over the sink and went back to bed for an hour. I woke up with nasty bad breath but feeling MUCH better. Pepper Goo totally did the trick. My roommate rocks. I highly recommend everyone get a Finnish nurse maid when you're feeling ill.

Short post again today - Yeaaaah I'm sick so SUE ME. Plus you guys come here for the MP3s and not my crass sense of humor.

Today's music pick comes from The Airborne Toxic Event - yet another new LA Band who are really making a splash in 2007. "Does This Mean You're Moving On?" is a bouncy track that sounds like the lovechild of Modest Mouse and a John Hughes movie. After only one listen I now have Molly Ringwald's face plastered in my brain. The band was recently listed as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's top 25 bands on myspace. Nostalgic references aside they are a really fun and happening band worth checking out.

The Airborne Toxic Event will be performing at The Echo Feb. 2nd with Rock Insider Favs The Deadly Syndrome. Check out more track's on the band's myspace page.
