Wallpaper. And The Onslaught Of Electro-Prog

Wallpaper. Knows How To Rock The Mid-Century Chair

[MP3] Wallpaper. - A Million Dollars
[MP3] Wallpaper. - The Remix

I do have to apologize about not being able to post earlier about last night's Rock Insider show at The Scene in Glendale. There still was a good size crowd and every band that played was ABSOLUTELY fantastic.

Three of the four bands on the bill were on tour. I will do my best to feature every one of them over the next few days - Starting right now with Wallpaper.

Wallpaper is a an experimental side project of Facing New York front man and Bay Area resident Eric Frederic. Best way to describe it: Electro-Prog mixed with early nineties New Jack Swing.

As it stands Wallpaper is just a two piece - Eric performs with a vocoder, his trusty Comapq Presario, and live drummer, and a mid-century reclining chair. You heard me - A CHAIR. Monday's show was Wallpaper's first ever show in Los Angeles, CA. Eric rocked the mic, danced his arse off, kicked by with his drink between every song, and laid down the groove for the audience. Vagrants and hipster alike were enjoying the tunes. A jovial homeless man who later introduced himself to me as "Spiderman" two-stepped during the entire set. His description of the music: "It's Sick."

Wallpaper are taking the DIY lifestyle to heart. The band currently have an earlier EP and a new single EP for sale on their MySpace page. You can purchase all their tracks through Snocap.

The set was amazing and gave a hint of what is to come. Wallpaper definitely have something special going on. Los Angeles readers can catch him two more times this week - including Thursdays Rock Insider Presents Show at The Silverlake Lounge with The Valley Arena. Click here for more information.
