For something a little different: Nick Jaina's in town tonight

Many of you are like who the heck is Nick Jaina. Last year I read a post on Music for Robots about Nick that showcased one of his songs and was immediately enthralled with the well thought out intricasy of the song. Bought the album the last time he came through and played a duet set at Genghis Cohen. I'm even more in love with how memorable each of the songs are now. His songwriting and arranging is some of the best I've heard from a neo folk act in quite sometime. He comes off as being very honest in his music and that's one thing that is often so refreshing to hear...artists that aren't trying to be anything but themselves.

Tonight he'll playing with a 6 piece band (made up of Ali Ippolito (Heroes & Villains) on ACCORDION and CLARINET, Scott Magee (Heroes & Villains, Loch Lomond) on DRUMS and CLARINET, Jason Leonard (Laura Gibson band) on GLOCKENSPEIL and SHEET METAL, Nathan Langston (The Maybe Happening) on VIOLIN, William Joersz (Run On Sentence) on UPRIGHT BASS, and Sean Flynn (Invisible Rockets) on ELECTRIC GUITAR) at Molly Malones. Show starts at 8 and should be a spectacle to behold with all those band members up there creating a small gorgeous symphonic sound!
