| Hey everyone. Your good friend JAX here. I'm in Salt Lake City for the next few days getting some much needed R&R and attending my baby brother's high school graduation. All 13 of my siblings are officially out of school. Fun times. Regular blogging will be slightly interrupted over the next few days. Rock Insider correspondants Nicole and Aubrey will be dropping in occasionally to fill you in the happenings around town in my absence. Times they are a changing. I didn't have time to make my big announcement before I left for the state of Deseret. Most of you know, but for those who don't I'll make it public. My last day at the Capitol Music Group was Friday. I spent 4 fabulous years at Capitol working in their new media department. I survived the merger and was kept on as a Director of Interactive Marketing. I loved my time there, but it was time to move on. I will be starting at Suretone Records June 11th as their Director of New Media. I have not talked much about my employer for obvious reasons (do a simple google search) - the main reason for me was my day job is not relevant to this site whatsoever. I got a lot of slack for writing about Capitol bands on this site. Every band I featured is a band I love. The truth is I kept Rock Insider a secret from my employer for the first year of its existence. I was afraid if they found out I would get fired. When they did find out they left me alone - as long as it didn't interfere with my work. Rock Insider is about the bands that I love, the LA music scene, and life in general. That will never change - no matter who my employer is. No doubt I will be writing about Suretone artists in the future. I don't want any of you to write this site off as a propaghanda blog. My mission statement is clearly outlined above. If it doesn't fall in to all of those categories it has no business being on my site. Suretone do have some really great bands that I've become a fan of - including Eastern Conference Champions (who I've talked about before) and Manic (local LA band), Not to mention The Cure and Weezer (I'm a HUUUGE fan of both). I'm exciting to start the next chapter of my life. This blog is a huge part of it and has been for the past two years. Thank you for all your continued support, well wishes, and love. It means the world to me. Feel free to hit me up anytime if you have a question, comment, or just want to send hate mail (I enjoying reading it immensely). JAX jax@rockinsider.com --ashleyjex
