Friday Guilty Pleasures: Eisley

GUILTY PLEASURE: EISLEY

Everyone has guilty musical pleasures. Just because you tout the greatness of Beirut and Junior Boys doesn't mean you can't secretly love Journey and Yellowcard (YOU KNOW YOU LOVE JOURNEY)

It is for that reason I've decided to start a new feature here at Rock Insider: "Friday Guilty Pleasures." My first pick: the ethereal voices of the traditionally emo leaning EISLEY

I don't know if this is the best act to start out with. My passion for this family affair has been well documented in the past (search my archives around July 2005). Since I STILL get a lot of crap for liking this band I figured it was the perfect act to start off with.

Eisley took some time off in 2006 to get hitched (singer/guitarist Sherri Dupree married New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert, and Chauntelle Dupree is engaged to Adam Lazzara from Taking Back Sunday) and put the finishing touches on their sophomore album, Combinations due August 14th via Warner Bros. The lead single "Invasion" has been stuck in my head for days.

Eisley will be playing an acoustic show at the silent movie theater in Hollywood TONIGHT.
