THINGS THAT MAKE ME VERY UPSET
 Elliott Smith Tribute Wall Defaced | photo by Sonny I. LaVista for LAist When I saw this image I seriously wanted to puke. Some inconsiderate prick DEFACED the Elliott Smith Tribute Wall in Silverlake.  Elliott Smith shot the cover for his 2000 release Figure 8 in front of this wall. After his shocking death in 2003 fans turned it into a memorial writing well wishes, poetry, and other inspirational messages in homage of the singer/songwriter. The wall is the storefront of Solutions Audio at 4334 W Sunset Blvd. Smith called the east side of Los Angeles his home during the last years of his life. Given the size of the graffiti its pretty obviously that whoever did this knew EXACTLY what they were doing. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Read more over at LAist. |

Seriously why? Some people are just evil.
Horrible, horrible, horrible. I wonder what time this was done because that area is fairly well traveled, so could it have been right after bars closed? Could it have been 5am? if so, probably a student out to catch his bus, or to ditch.
Whatever the case, whoever did this, Karma will pay you back, you'll see.
Let's paint over it and get the wall back.
These kinds of actions make me think that person doing the act is sicker than the act itself.

I have no words...
Even if people paint it and start over, all previous wishes, poems etc. will be removed and will never be back... It's so unfair, some people came there just to write something on this wall, people from all over the world, and some creature destroyed it so easily.

come on guys, it's just a wall. repaint it or let it be, as nothing lasts forever. elliott won't mind anymore, that's for sure. and when idiots wanna make you angry by destroying stuff, don't satisfy them by getting mad.

I feel really upset. I live close to the wall when I saw I almost cry. Some stupid kid, or Elliot hater did it. Or probably some ignorant kid dosn't even know what that wall means to us fans... Anyone know if they are going to restore the wall?
