The Dodos Sign To French Kiss + New Song!

[MP3] The Dodos - Fools

I always knew these gentlemen were destined for greater things... San Francisco based experimental folk duo The Dodos announced today that they have signed with French Kiss Records (Home of The Hold Steady, Les Savy Fav, Thunderbirds Are Now!) and will be releasing their long awaited new album Visiter on March 18th.

I've posted "Fools"  - a new track from Visiter above. I have been a fan of The Dodos since first seeing them in January.  Their display of intricate guitar, vocal looping, and experimental drums is positively hypnotic live.

Pitchfork recently featured a video of The Dodos performing "Fools"  shot by Matt Amatto from We Are The Masses. Click here to read the article.

So what's next for the band? The Dodos will be playing a few dates in the next few weeks with label mates Les Savy Fav and will be heading out to SXSW in March for a series of shows.

If you enjoy discovering new music like I do, check out Ella Rouge. They blend the sounds of Elton John, Scissor Sisters and a modern day Bill Joel! They are fronted by Ludvig Andersson (son of ABBA co-founder Benny Andersson), Add some outrageous weather, complete with hurricane-force gales, sprinkle in a variety of impromptu magical musical moments and voila you have the formula for the amazing self-titled debut from the sextet of Swedes known as Ella Rouge. Check out their music at and let me know what you think.
