Drug Rug - Look Past The Name...

The adorable boyfriend/girlfriend fuzz-wothy power pop duo known as Drug Rug played at Spaceland last night. I missed the show due to illness (seems to be a theme this month). From what I've heard it was off the chain. Drug Rug is comprised of Tommy Allen (Apollo Sunshine) and Sarah Cronin. With a name like Drug Rug you'd think this band would play crazy psychedelic punk, but they anything but that. The pair released a self titled full length on Black and Greene Records in 2007 with more than few memorable 60s pop, garage, and folk rock inspired tunes. Cronin's unusual voice seems to compliment Tommy's steady timber despite being so opposite. Check out two tracks below. Drug Rug are currently out on tour.
