Why Is No One Talking About No Age?

[MP3] No Age - Boy Void
[MP3] No Age - Everybody's Down

Sure, Everyone's talking about how No Age and a bevy of amazing bands from The Smell scene are starting to get some major exposure these days. If you happened to make it down to any of The Smell 10 Year Anniversary Shows this past week you know what I'm talking about. Funny thing is very few Los Angeles music blogs seem to be writing about the phenomenon - including this one.  Pitchfork has been on it for months and the way things are going the noise rock scene in Los Angeles is about to blow wider than an atom bomb shock wave.

No Age  recently signed to Sub Pop and have a record coming out later this year.  The duo will also be touring with  Liars Jan 25-Feb 22nd, and their latest album Weirdo Rippers landed at #12 on Pitchfork's Top 50 albums of 2007. The buzz meter on this band couldn't GET any higher.

OTHER SMELL BANDS YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO:

Abe Vigoda
  - Not the actor - the band. Their spastic songs are full of yelping vocals and wonderful delay and crunch. Abe Vigoda are playing all over LA this month. Click here for dates.

HEALTH - The band got a a lot of good press for their self titled debut in 2007. In 2008 they are hitting the road with Crystal Castles

The Mae Shi
- The Mae Shi don't simply "PLAY A SHOW" - They put on a spectacle. The band have been around for years reinventing themselves again and again. They just keep getting better and better. The Mae Shi are embarking on a UK tour this month.
