Odetta Dies At 77 Word cannot describe how incredibly saddened I am to hear of the great Odetta's passing. The legendary folk singer and voice of the Civil Rights Movement dies yesterday due to complications from Heart Disease. She was 77 yrs old. Odetta had hoped to perform at Barack Obama's Inauguration. Odetta inspired an entire generation of musician's including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
